Some actors are known for their stature in the industry, some are known for the looks or the chiseled body while some are purely famous for their talent as an actor. The one who falls in the latter category is actor Sohum Shah.
Sohum made the world take notice of his prowess as an actor with the film 'Ship of Theseus'. With such high standards set, the expectations from him are again high as he is currently shooting for his second film titled 'Tumbad'.
Set in the lesser known parts of Maharashtra, the film is a a period drama. The actor is playing a very demanding role that has a lot of potential. Hence he is leaving no stone unturned to fit the role perfectly.
When the script required him to look bulkier, he made an effort to pile on eight kgs for the same. He has also worn prosthetics in certain parts of the movie. Not just that, in fact after doing so much also, everyday he had to sit for seven-hour-long prosthetic make-up sessions before the shoot.
"The film is set in the colonial era of Maharashtra. So my character had to look a certain way. Since it took me about seven hours to just get into the look, I had to wake up at dawn and begin with the make-up," said the actor about his experience of going through the grill.
Nonetheless he is thoroughly happy to be a part of the film and to do a substantial role in it. "It's a very challenging role — not just mentally, but also physically," he stated.
