Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt together made their big Bollywood dream come true with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year' that gave the two not just popularity but also immense respect for their acting prowess.

Offers came pouring in for the two and since then there is no looking back. Sid has always mentioned that Alia has a special place in his heart since she is his first co-actor and this history can never be changed. He also adds that he is extremely protective about Alia. 

Alia too has never shied away from expressing her fondness for the handsome actor. And off late, the two are often spotted hanging out together.

News is that filmmaker Ayan Mukerji is keen to cast the two of them together in a film and that's why he also posted a picture of the two on his micro blogging page stating 'A couple waiting to happen'.

The three will soon team up together for a film and the reason behind this is said to be their growing friendship bond. While Ayan sure is Alia's current best friend, we wonder if Sid and Alia are more than just 'good friends'.
