Silambarasan aka Simbu, who prefers to be called as STR these days is all set to start work on his next movie. But about a forthcoming film of him, which is to be directed by a newcomer, Vijay.

Titled Vaalu, the film will be produced by S S Chakravarthy of NIC Arts, who is presently making Vettai Mannan with Simbu. It is to be noted that Chakravarthy produced Kaalai a few years ago, with the same actor.

'Vijay recently met STR and Chakravarthy and narrated the script of Vaalu. The actor and the producer were thoroughly impressed with it and gave their consent to the project. That's how Vaalu happened,' say sources close to the development.

Thaman, who gave superhit music for STR's last venture Osthi, is expected to compose music for Vaalu. An official announcement is expected soon.
