Simbu, Trisha, Enthiran win 'Edison' awards

The 4th edition of colorful Edison Movie Awards was held in grand manner at Lady Andal School auditorium, Chennai on Saturday evening.
Superstar Rajnikanth starrer, Shankar's Enthiran won the best film award and Simbu got the best actor award for his excellent performance in Vinnaithandi Varuvaya. Trisha won the best actress award for the same film.
Actor Jayaprakash got his first ever award for his outstanding performance in Naan Mahan Alla. The best villain award also was bestowed to the same film. For the first time this award was given to four new faces who rocked in the villain roles.
Striking performance by Actress Amala Paul got selected for the BEST DEBUTANT ACTRESS AWARD. 'Goa' directed by “Venkat Prabhu” clenched the EDISONS for the Best Romantic Picture and along with Director Vijay who won the Best Director of the movie “Madharasapattinam “.Director Sargunam won the Best Debutant Director Award. Actress AARTHY topped for the Best Comedy Actress Award and movie “SINGAM” directed by “Hari” won the Best Commercial Movie Award.
