(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Simon Cowell's quest for a southern style breakfast landed him in hot water with his fellow X Factor judges.

The British media mogul was in Greensboro, North Carolina on his way to auditions when he impulsively stopped off at a diner.

L.A. Reid, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato were all left waiting for him while he took his time having a bite to eat.

"One minute Simon was on his way to the Coliseum and auditions were about to start," a source told RadarOnline. "The next thing security was radioing over that Simon had diverted the driver and asked to go to a local diner."

A source on the set was overheard telling producers that "Simon's at a diner. Is that really what we're waiting for? I don't care about grits and cheesecake."

"Forty five minutes late, Simon's car pulled up and he was carrying a tray with what was left of his breakfast to go," the insider said. "He was really happy and had this big smile on his face."

"L.A. Reid was really livid with Simon. He couldn't believe he'd kept 5,000 people, the contestants and all the other judges waiting for that long just to try some grits and mashed potatoes." (C) Cover Media
