Simon Cowell: I look handsome in suits

9th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Simon Cowell plans to wear a suit on the American X Factor after being inundated with fanmail saying the smart attire makes him look handsome.

The music mogul is taking the British singing contest to the US this year, and the show is highly-anticipated. Simon starred in a promo for it which aired during Sundays Super Bowl American football match, and in it he wore a suit.

He is better known for wearing high-waisted trousers and tight T-shirt style tops, but says the reception to his new look has been so good hes considering overhauling his wardrobe.

Well, Ive had so much positive feedback wearing a suit from the Super Bowl [spot]. Literally, thousands and thousands of letters saying how handsome I looked, so I might wear that again, he laughed to Access Hollywood.

Simon has given several interviews about the new programme this week, and is being constantly quizzed about who will join him on the judging panel. Cheryl Cole, Nicole Scherzinger and Christina Aguilera have all been linked to the role, but Simon is remaining tight-lipped on who will win a seat alongside him. He admitted Paula Abdul who judged American Idol with him for several years is keen on the role, and refused to rule her out.

What I like about Nicole... she started off as a competitor on one of these shows. She is a killer; she is really ambitious, he mused to Extra.

Paula has made it clear she wants to do the show, but you have to put her in the mix with other potential judges... a lot of people make decisions... she is still in there.

Simon added he likes the idea of working with Usher, while Christina is a definite no. He finds the prospect of Ricky Martin being involved interesting and raved about Black Eyed Peas star Fergie.

[She is] one of the most underrated performers, he said.

The [judges] will be cute. But the male judges will not be as good looking as me, he laughed in a separate interview.

Simon announced he was leaving American Idol last year to focus on the new version of The X Factor. Judges Elle DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi also quit, with Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler joining Randy Jackson on the judging panel.

Simon hasnt watched an entire episode of American Idol with the new judges, but from what hes seen he thinks theyre doing a good job. He says the programme seems sweeter, warmer and more cosy than when he was involved. (C) Cover Media
