With his films always being associated with hit music, director Kunal Deshmukh and music composer Pritam's association has always spelled chart-busting music.
However, this time around with Pritam's dates being completely packed, the director decided to bet on young, fresh talent roping in Yuvan Shankar Raja, the son of noted composer Ilaiyaraaja for his upcoming next 'Raja Natwarlal'.
Yuvan who has a rich body of work down south and has composed music for over a 100 films will be making his Bollywood debut with 'Raja Natwarlal' starring Emraan Hashmi.
Says a source, "While Pritam was the obvious choice to compose music for the film, Kunal decided to go ahead with Pritam's suggestion and lock Yuvan Shankar Raja for his film. Given that Emraan Hashmi has always been associated with hit music, it will be interesting to see if the lucky run continues with Raja Natwarlal which marks the Bollywood debut of Illaiyaraja's son".
Says director Kunal Deshmukh, "Yuvan was waiting for the right Hindi film to come his way to make his debut here. After discussing the song situations and the general vibe of the album, Yuvan was excited to be part of the project".
