SRK mentors Kjo's discoveries

13th September 2012

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's on and off screen achievements are enough to inspire a generation who looks up to his dust to dawn story for inspiration.

For many, he is a living institution, by observing whom they have made their careers high. And just recently it was revealed that he took a couple of newcomers under his wings for their debut.

The lucky ones were Karan Johar's discoveries Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra who are making debut with Karan Johar's direction 'Student of the Year'

The film which is a co-production of SRK and Kjo has been making waves in the industry. But not many know that both Varun and Siddharth worked as assistant directors on SRK's 'My Name is Khan' that was directed by Karan Johar.

At that time SRK had learnt that both of them intended to take up acting, and it was then that SRK flooded them with sound advices and tips on achieving their dreams.

"SRK might not have been on the sets, but he was there emotionally. Besides, he had given us so many acting tips when we were assisting Karan during 'My Name Is Khan'. He knew we wanted to be actors, so he would take us aside after every scene and explain the nuances of the scene. It was great; he's our mentor, in a way," stated Varun and Siddharth at a recent interview.
