The 37-year-old actor is one of the most respected stars in Hollywood, although he has confessed to sometimes struggling with the precarious nature of his work.

Because he doesnt follow a typical routine, Stephen often finds himself getting bored easily if he has days on end without shooting.

After a movie ends, you go home. I dont have an office job, so what do I do? I dont know what to do! I play music, a little tennis... But after that, what then? You make another movie. Its hard, he told Total Film magazine.

The movie heartthrob has been praised for his role in Somewhere, which tells the story of Hollywood hell-raiser Johnny Marco, who has to clean up his act after an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter.

The movie stars talented youngster Elle Fanning as Johnnys daughter Cleo, and was directed by prestigious moviemaker Sofia Coppola.

Stephen adored working with Sofia and attributes much of the films success to her immense talent.

I think when we meet him hes at a very low point in his life, said Stephen of his character Johnny. Hes very isolated, very empty and I think Sofia nails that in a very realistic way that I havent seen in a movie before especially about an actor. (C) Cover Media
