The 37-year-old actor, best known for his roles in Blade and Backbeat, is currently one of the most respected actors within the industry. Stephen however feels that such respect should be given as well as received as evidenced through his enduring love for his supporters.

He believes his success goes hand in hand with the support he gets from his well-wishers.

I feel like theyre the people that make me more successful. And the more success that I have, the more freedom Ill have to make good films, he told Total Film.

Although revered for his ability to portray villains on film, Stephen insists that he plays the good guy away from the screen. His hospitality extends to autographs and pictures where he is always happy to oblige even if others are less accommodating.
