Sylvester Stallone: Expendables sequel proving tough

26th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sylvester Stallone has admitted it is proving almost impossible to please the whole cast for The Expendables sequel.

The Hollywood icon directed and starred in hit action movie The Expendables last year, and he is already planning a follow-up. The first film also starred Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Stallone is struggling to develop a script which gives the star-studded cast their own moment in the spotlight. He is determined to bring a sequel to the big screen but has accepted it will take time to finalise the storyline.

"When you're dealing with so many people it's very difficult to be able to incorporate everyone in it and everyone get equal time," Stallone explained to ET. "It's just almost impossible, so you just try to find ten different moments for ten different guys and hope for the best."

Willis, Li, Lundgren and Statham are tipped to reprise their roles for the second movie. It has also been reported Jean-Claude Van Damme, Charlie Sheen and Chuck Norris could make an appearance.

British actor Statham has revealed he loves appearing in action movies and he has been inspired by a host of big names in the genre. The 43-year-old Hollywood hardman relishes the opportunity to perform his own stunts as he believes it makes movies more believable.

"I think it's something I've been accustomed to for many years now," Statham told ET. "All the great action films that I've been inspired by, usually there's a real sense of the people doing their own things like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. People like that, they made a career out of it and they get a lot of respect from that." (C) Cover Media
