One of Bollywood's veteran actors Tanuja Mukherjee will soon be seen in a film with a very different look where most actors think twice before reprising it. Tanuja has shaved her head bald to play a window in Nitish Bharadwaj's film.
The film is yet to be titled and it marks the directorial debut of Nitish who is best known for his portrayal of Lord Krishna in B.R. Chopra's 'Mahabharat'.
Talking about taking such a big step Tanuja said, "It happened on Friday morning. I got it done at my house," and added, " I looked at the mirror and said 'Oh nice!"
"I play a widow in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. I told Nitish, my character would look very convincing and authentic if I shaved my head. It would add a new dimension to my role," she further added.
Without giving too many details about the story and her role, she said, "The film revolves round Sachin Khedekar and me. My role is very challenging and I am looking forward to it. I start shooting in Wai from February 16."
Daughters Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee were fine with it as Tanuja was very sure of what she wanted.
Keeping her role all wrapped up, now only the film will tell what it's all about.
