(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Taylor Armstrong was reportedly present when her estranged husband's body was found.

Russell Armstrong, 47, was found dead on Monday night after an apparent suicide in the bedroom of a friend's home where he was staying.

TMZ are reporting that Taylor and Russell had been in frequent communication and were supposed to have met on Monday afternoon.

When he did not turn up, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star became concerned and began to call friends but no one had heard from him.

Taylor, who has five-year-old daughter Kennedy with Russell, became increasingly worried and began to text and phone him but she never got a response.

The Hollywood socialite then went with a friend to Russell's home on Monday evening and found the owner of the property.

Taylor watched as the owner looked through Russell's bedroom window and saw his lifeless body hanging.

The owner called the emergency services but the father-of-three was pronounced dead at 8.16pm.

Taylor apparently believes that he had been dead for hours and stayed at the home for a long time after the body was found.

She had filed for divorce from Russell last month after eight years of marriage claiming that he abused her.

The investment banker and venture capitalist was said to be suffering from terrible financial problems and was millions of dollars in debt.

Taylor's lawyer Robert Thorne says that she is "devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded".

She has asked for privacy so that she may comfort her young daughter and says her "thoughts and prayers are also with Russell's 11 and 13-year-old sons". (C) Cover Media
