Taylor Kitsch puts an inordinate amount of pressure on himself.
The 30-year-old Canadian-born actor's career is flourishing at the moment.
Taylor plays the eponymous leading role in new science-fiction action film John Carter and he has several major blockbuster movies set to be released this summer.
The ambitious actor admits adding to the stress he experiences as a result of his increased workload.
"There's no denying it's a huge year," Taylor told People magazine. "But the [hype] will never be more than the pressure I put on myself. If I'm gonna fail, I'll fail hard. If I'm gonna do something, I'm all in."
Taylor's dreams of becoming a professional hockey player were shattered when he suffered a career-killing injury at the age of 20.
The chiselled athlete moved to New York City and began to model soon after, but wasn't initially thrilled with his occupation.
"You know how when it gets late, [the subway train in New York City] skips stops? That's the one I would usually take," Taylor recalled. "[I made] under 100 bucks [per gig]. I hated modelling!"
Taylor has recently moved to Austin, Texas. With his numerous professional obligations, the star doesn't believe he'll find much time to enjoy his new abode.
"I'll be home for 20 hours in the next three months," he shared.
