October 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Telugu version of Ram Gopal Varmas Rakta Charitra has received a huge response from the viewers as all the theaters in Andhra Pradesh were packed during the screening of the movie.
Telugu audiences are already aware of the real life incidents which is the base of the story, so this might have increased their interest in the movie. Since morning, the audiences gathered outside the theaters.
The Telugu version of the movie opened in 280 screens. Now, they are planning to open it in more 40 screens with 90 additional shows because of the growing popularity and high public demand. The tickets for this week have been sold out already.
Rakta Charitra starring Surya and Vivek Oberoi, was simultaneously made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. The film has also set a record in the overseas even before the release as the Tamil version was sold for a record Rs 4.5 crore, thus making it the highest paid Surya film overseas.
As already known by all, Rakta Charitra is based on the real life story of Paritala Ravi, who was the prime suspect in several murder cases. The movie has come under many controversies even before the release and there was a great furor among a group of people regarding it. However, finally RGV has been successful to please his Telugu audiences.
