Even though it was not her debut, Alexa Vega became popular only after her role as Camen Cortez in the 'Spy Kids' movie. Alexa is no kid now, she is turning 22 today.


Born in Miami, Florida, she came from a glamorous family, with her mother Gina Rue, who is an American former model. She made her debut with the movie 'Little Giants'. In 1996, she starred as the young Jo Harding in the movie 'Twister' and also made guest appearnces on several television serials. With 'Spy Kids' in 2001, she suddenly came into the limelight and in 2003, she was named as one of the hottest teen celebrity by the Vanity magazine. Vega also debuted in Broadway, in 2007, through Hairspray as Penny Pingleton.


This starlet is not just an actor but also a singer. She recorded her debut single "Isle of dreams", "Game Over" and "Heart drive" featuring Bobby Edner. She also recorded several other songs but she is no more interested in a musical career as she is more inclined towards acting. Vega got married on the 10th October, 2010 to Sean Covel, a producer.
