Upendra's professional advice to Vijayakumar!
20th April 2011
The super star of Kannada cinema Upendra, gave some professional advice to his colleague, director Vijayakumar, at the launch of Sumanth Shailender's film.
"A director should not plead with the audience. He should compel the audience to come and watch his cinema". That should be a director's attitude, explained Upendra whilst he was judging a dance competition organized by Shailendra Production.
Upendra was one of the judges, along with Ramya and music director cum comedy actor Sadhu Kokila, at Dr. Ambedkar Bhavan, on Miller Road in Bangalore.
Upendra has worked in three films of Shailendra Productions. 'Gowramma' and 'Kutumba' were super hits under that banner but the third one 'Dubai Babu' crashed in the box-office. Upendra was extremely happy when director Vijayakumar said that he had taken one and half to prepare the script.
Judging the dance of six teams and giving away the prize to the 'Step up Team', Upendra offered a chance for this team to work in the film.
