(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Usher feels that God placed Justin Bieber in his hands because he knew he would be the right person to mentor the young star.

R&B superstar Usher shot to fame as a teenager back in the 90s, and he has helped 16-year-old pop sensation Justin to top the charts over the past year.

The 31-year-old singer famously helped launch Justin by introducing him to the record company executive L.A. Reid, who signed Justin as soon as they met and set him on the road to stardom.

Usher believes it was no coincidence that he was introduced to 16-year-old Justin by his business partner Scooter Braun, saying he thinks there was some divine intervention involved.

"I feel as if God specifically placed (Bieber) in front of me, because of how I started," Usher told USA Today.

The singer says he can help Justin because he himself experienced life as a huge teen star. He also praised Justin?s incredible musical talent, arguing that he has much more to offer than has already been heard.

"I understood the hardships of trying to find yourself in this industry at that age, and I wanted him to have an instant, organic connection to his fans. And he's done that. He just has these natural talents ? and some you haven't even seen yet," gushed Usher.

Usher and Justin are not only close in a business sense, they are also good friends and Usher says he speaks to the star all day via Twitter and on the phone. He compared the teen star to the British pop group The Beatles, who were adored by girls all over the world back in the 60s.
