Jiiva's popularity is soaring high in Tollywood, post the success of 'Rangam' (Telugu dubbed version of his Tamil blockbuster 'Ko'), in which he had played the role of a press photographer. Cashing in on his popularity in the 'Telugu Desam', his forthcoming film 'Vandhan Vendran', a crime thriller written and directed by R Kannan of 'Jayamkondan' and 'Kanden Kadhalai' fame, is being dubbed in Telugu.

The Tollywood version has been titled 'Vachadu Gelichadu', which is a literal translation of the Tamil title. K V V Satyanarayana has bought the Telugu dubbing rights from the producer K S Srinivasan of Vasan Visual Ventures.

The film is slated for a September release. It has music composed by Thaman, who is extremely popular in Telugu cinema. Cinematography is by P G Muthiah and editing by V T Vijayan. 'Vandhan Vendran' features Jiiva in the role of a professional boxer. Nandha plays the baddie in it, while Tapsee is the heroine.
