Victoria Beckham has asked people who have been criticising her appearance to "give [her]a break".

The fashion designer has presented two collections at New York Fashion Week over the last seven days, both of which have been lauded by critics.

She is also a mother of four, choosing to take her seven-month-old old daughter Harper with her to the shows.

Victoria has appeared more tired than usual over the last week, but insists anyone in her position would look the same.

"Look, if people want to say I'm miserable then so be it. I'm really not. I have a lot on my plate. I'm not going to lie about it, I'm tired. I'm really tired but I'm also very happy with my life," she told British newspaper The Sunday Mirror.

"Harper's not sleeping that great I'm up with the baby as all mums are and I wouldn't have it any other way. There's not a team of people doing it for me.

"And then people want to say I look c**p. Well, I'm a working mum, so give me a break."

As well as looking after Harper during the night, Victoria has been working. Much of her team is based in London while she lives in Los Angeles with her soccer star husband David and their three other kids. It means she has to be available all the time even if she should be sleeping.

Although the 37-year-old wants to set the record straight she's also not letting the negative comments get to her.

"The glass is always half full for me. You can't get hung up on what other people say. I surround myself with the people that matter. And everything else can just go away," she said.

Victoria and David also have three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, and six-year-old Cruz. David recently said they might add to their brood in the future, but Victoria isn't quite so sure.

At the moment she is content with raising the children she already has and ensuring she spends as much time as possible with them all.

"The thing is I'm not against having more children. I feel lucky having the kids I have and I guess I do like being pregnant. But definitely not just yet," she said.
