After carefully going through the welfare activities carried out by the members of Makkal Iyakkam - A political party launched by Vijay, he selected some of its office bearers and honoured them at a function, in Chennai.

"Vijay wanted to appreciate the great work done by members of Makkal Iyakkam. Since he is unavailable to interact with everyone, he invited those who had performed exceptionally well and honoured them," said an activist of Makkal Iyakkam.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijay requested his fans to continue their service to society. "But before you serve society, you should ensure that you make your family members happy," Vijay said.

Vijay added, "Take care of the well being of your family first. Then you can come and work for the society on behalf of Makkal Iyakkam. This is more than enough to make me happy."
