'Ilaya Thalapathi' Vijay's forthcoming film Thuppakki, which is being directed by A R Murugadoss, will be remade in Hindi soon. The Bollywood version, to be helmed by Murugadoss himself, will have Akshay Kumar in the lead role.

Says Murugadoss, 'I have plans to start the Hindi version of Thuppakki by August. About 60 per cent of Thuppaki shooting is over. We have to complete four more songs and some talkie portions.'

It is said that Akshay Kumar recently came to know about the storyline of Thuppaki and fell in love with it immediately. He immediately conveyed Murugadoss that he would like to play the lead role in its Hindi version.

Thuppakki, being produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, has music by Harris Jayaraj. Kajal Agarwal plays Vijay's love interest in this film, which is touted as an action entertainer.
