The 2007 film ‘Ek Chalis Ki Last Local’ got actor Abhay Deol an instant recognition in the industry and gave director Sanjay Kandhuri's career an instant high. Just a few days back, it was announced that the sequel to the film was in the pipeline and it was expected that the original cast; that is Abhay Deol and Neha Dhupia will reprise their roles.

However, as fate would have it Sanjay has opted to replace his talented protagonist Abhay Deol with Vivek Oberoi. Apparently Vivek caught Sanjay's attention with his films besides the fact that the film will be produced by one of Vivek’s close associates Amit Chandra.

Sanjay confirmed that he has finalized Vivek for his next but refused to divulge any details further. Nevertheless it is heard that the sequel will be tentatively tiled as  ‘Gyarah Chalis Ki Last Metro’ and unlike the original movie that was set in Mumbai this one will be set in Delhi.
