Even as Alphonsa is getting treatment in a hospital at Vadapalani in Chennai after she attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills on Monday morning, upset over the death of her boyfriend Vinod Kumar, allegations are doing rounds that Vinod did not commit suicide, but was murdered.

Relatives of Vinod Kumar have expressed suspicions over his death. His uncle Sukumaran has lodged a complaint with the Virugambakkam police, saying it could be a case of murder.

Vinod Kumar’s relatives say that Alphonsa and her family murdered Vinod and are trying to make it look like suicide. In a complaint, Vinod’s uncle has urged the cops to take action. Alphonsa swallowed some sleeping pills fearing arrest, he said.

Alphonsa gained much popularity for her song in "Baadsha" (Ra Ra Ramaiah…) and "Dhil" (Machan Meesai…). She was suffering from a strained relationship with her boyfriend Vinod Kumar, which has now reached a dead end.
