January 26, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein are making a biopic titled Lovelace, based on the life of the late porn star Linda Lovelace. The script of the film will be written by W. Merritt Johnson and will be based on the book called 'The Complete Linda Lovelace' by Danville.
The character of Chuck Traynor, the husband and pornographer, might be played by none other than James Franco. He is still in talks with the film makers. But according to reports, the packed schedule of Franco might not be able to give him time for Lovelace. If he finally works on Lovelace, it will be his reunion with the Howl directors, Friedman and Epstein.
Traynor played a significant role in Lindas life. They were married before the release of the blockbuster porn film Deep Throat in 1972. When Linda and Traynor divorced, she revealed that it was her husband who had forced her into prostitution. She was threatened at gunpoint by Traynor to work in the movie Deep Throat.
The title role has been bagged by Kate Hudson. The only hurdle on the way of Lovelace is the lack of funds.
Lovelace is the only film being made on the life of Linda Lovelace. Another biopic titled Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story is also being developed. It will be written and directed by Matthew Wilder. Initially Lindsay Lohan was supposed to essay the role of Linda, but later Malin Akerman was taken on board replacing Lindsay.
