(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Olivia Wilde will "do anything" to appear in a Star Trek movie, she has revealed.
The 27-year-old actress has a soft spot for the sci-fi genre in her heart. At a press conference for her film Cowboys & Aliens, Olivia professed that she would be willing to paint herself outlandish colours to star in a Star Trek film.
"[Paint myself] green? That's fine, I'll do anything!" Olivia said to COVER Media.
A pivotal reason why she is so interested in the genre is due to her childhood. Olivia grew up watching sci-fi television and films and finds the characters very inspiring.
"I grew up watching Star Trek with my family," Olivia recounted. "There have been great female characters in Trek over the years."
One Star Trek captain in particular inspired her the most. She is really inspired by Captain Kathryn Janeway, portrayed by actress Kate Mulgrew.
"Captain Kathryn Janeway, she did it well," Olivia explained. "She's got that voice I could never compete with."
Olivia's sci-fi tastes are extensive. The original Aliens series, which features legendary actress Sigourney Weaver, also made a big impact on her. She would like to follow in those strong footsteps.
"I would love to play more powerful women in sci-fi. What Sigourney [Weaver] did for women in sci-fi is incredible," Olivia said. "I think she sort of set the standard. And I love the genre, I'd love to do more of it."
Cowboys & Aliens is now in theatres. (C) Cover Media
