(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Zo Kravitz has revealed she had to work out for the first time to prepare for her scenes for X-Men: First Class.
The 22-year-old will portray super mutant Angel Salvadore in the new superhero film. The actress, who has previously appeared in 2007 productions, The Brave One and No Reservations, divulges that she was forced to exercise prior to the role in order to execute some of its more rigorous set pieces.
Id never really worked out before so I had to start from scratch. I needed a really strong core because I do a lot of action sequences that are filmed using wires, which mean hanging from a harness for hours, she told Company magazine.
As a result of the exercise and healthy eating regime Zo says she managed to obtain her ideal body, and could master the character she had to play.
I trained three or four times a week, plus I was on a programme which involved eating lots of vegetables and lean protein and doing circuit training. I also drank [special] shakes, which were like a power shot of organic veg, green tea and anti-oxidants to help me detox and burn fat, she said before adding, I guess it was like a superheros routine! It was fun, they got me in the best shape Ive been in super-toned and muscular but not too skinny just like a superhero! (C) Cover Media
