(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Zooey Deschanel enjoyed playing a bad-mannered character in Your Highness.

The 31-year-old American actress has starred in hit movies such as Yes Man and (500) Days of Summer, and has always avoided portraying stereotypically girly characters.

Zooey appears in upcoming comedy fantasy Your Highness, alongside Natalie Portman and James Franco, and she was primarily attracted to her character Belladonnas impoliteness.

Shes been trapped by an evil wizard for most of her life, so shes pretty weird. I like getting to be unselfconscious - I dont really feel so comfortable playing just, like, a pretty girl - so to be able to be a maiden who has no table manners, that was fun, she laughed in an interview with Total Film.

Zooey enjoyed the comedy aspects of the movie, which tells the tale of a prince who goes on a quest to rescue his kidnapped bride. She was also thrilled for the opportunity to work alongside James and Natalie.

Great actors definitely make your days a lot better. I mean, its a very silly movie so we were all aware of that, but it was an honour to work with all those great actors, she beamed. (C) Cover Media
