November 13, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The revived 'Spiderman' series has generated enough hype with its starcast alone. If rumors are to be believed, the latest addition to thecast of the film might be Zooey Deschanel. This 30-year-old star hadpreviously worked with Marc Webb, also the director of the new 'Spiderman' movie, in '500 Days of Summer'. It has been reported that Webbis still in talks with Deschanel and nothing has been finalized yet.

Zooey Deschanel had done several supporting roles in the past inmovies like Failure To Launch, Elf and The Hitchhikers Guide tothe Galaxy. In this spidey movie, Deschanel has reportedly beenoffered the role of Betty Brant, the hot PA of Jonah Jameson who isthe editor-in-chief of Daily Bugle. Although the role of Betty Brantwas a minor one in the previous installations of the 'Spiderman' movies,Webb has greater plans this time. BettyBrant was the original love interest of the superhero. This aspectwill be explored in Spider-Man 3D, which is scheduled for a July 3,2012 Release.

According to sources, the role of Betty in the new 'Spiderman' moviecalls for a strong performer and Zooey is perfect for it. Thisactress, model and musician is undoubtedly beautiful and sexy but shedoes not seem inaccessible like a star from the cover of Vogue. Onecan easily relate to her as Deschanel seems more like a girl from theneighborhood or from work. She would make a very believable PA of anewspaper editor.
