Bollywood singer Aditya Narayan, the son of veteran singer Udit Narayan met with an unfortunate accident when he slammed his car into an auto, injuring the driver and the lady passenger. On Monday, Versova police arrested Aditya when he hit an auto-rickshaw with his Mercedes Benz car injuring the senior citizen driver as well as the woman passenger. Later on, he was released on bail.

The accident happened around 12:30 pm in the afternoon when Aditya misjudged the U-turn and accidentally bashed his car into the rickshaw. The whole incident happened in front of Indralok building, Lokhandwala back road, Andheri (West). Aditya even got a minor injury on his hand. A police officer from the Versova branch said, "He misjudged while taking a U-turn and hit the auto-rickshaw from behind with his car, injuring the driver and a woman passenger."

The 64-year-old auto-driver Palekar and the 32-year old Surekha Shivekar who were injured were immediately taken to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital by Aditya Narayan himself. The officer added, "Prima facie it did not look like a case of drink and drive but we are waiting for his medical reports." The officer stated that the injuries looked serious and he further said, "Narayan did not try to escape from the spot and took the injured to the hospital. The driver has suffered head injuries and the passenger has also received injuries. Whether the injuries are life-threatening or not, I will not comment on that as the doctors are treating them."

The 30-year-old was charged under section 279 (punishment for rash driving), section 338 (punishment for causing grievous hurt) read with section 184 of Motor Vehicles Act of the Indian Penal Code.
