Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch recently arrested KriArj Entertainment founder Prerna Arora recently on for allegedly cheating the business partner film-maker Vashu Bhagnani over 32 crore dues settlement. Now, Prerna has applied for bail at special court in Mumbai on Monday reported a leading daily. She even issued a statement on 9 December, where she said that there was no veracity in the complainant's claims and was being maligned by Vashu Bhagnani’s company Pooja Entertainment.
Whereas Bhagnani said in a statement 'Fanney Khan' and 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' by Ms. Arora's company KriArj Entertainment. Prior to this Prerna even had a legal feud with 'Kedarnath' director and producer Abhishek Kapoor. Arora had accused him of wasting resources during the shooting. Kapoor had countered the claim by accusing her of non-payment of dues.
In a statement made to a leading daily, Prerna also said that her family was being threatened by Bhagnani, adding that he lost and his case was dismissed in various courts of the country. She said, "Mr Bhagnani and his company have attracted orders which are available in the public domain from the court stating that they have attempted fraud and their pleas have been rejected time and again."
On the work front, Prerna Arora has bankrolled Bollywood films like 'Rustom', 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha', 'PadMan' and 'Pari'. The Bail Plea is in the court and following the matter, Prerna Arora is been booked under sections 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
