After PM Modi, Defence minister watches 'URI' with war veterans

28th January 2019

It was on Sunday, the Defence Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman watched the Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer 'Uri- The Surgical Strike' with a group of war veterans at Central Spirit Mall, Bellandur, Bengaluru.

Sharing a still and a glimpse of the atmosphere around in the theatre she wrote,"What a power-packed movie @AdityaDharFilms and @RonnieScrewvala. Brilliant performances @yamigautam @vickykaushal09 @SirPareshRawal ji,  @mohituraina. Recharged also by the energy in the cinema hall! #HighJosh."

As it was a day after the Republic Day all the young enthusiastic crowd was waving the Indian Tricolor flag all over chanting Jai Hind! and the Josh was sky high. Click here to watch the glimpse of her twitter video.

The Defence Minister even clicked many selfies with the children and the public at the mall. "How is the josh?'' is the popular line from the movie, based on the 2016 Indian Army's surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan as a retaliation for the Uri attack that claimed the lives of 17 army personnel.

Sitharaman on January 16 had met the cast and crew of the film on the occasion of Army Day. Even in the third week, the BO collection doesn't slow down as the film has now raked 150 cr.
