Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and filmmaker Karan Johar reunited to meet with the honourable PM of India Narendra Modi, who was on a one-day visit to Maharashtra. The trio discussed the issues being faced by the Indian film industry. Akshay posted a still of the meeting hall and captioned it, "Heartfelt thank you to the honourable Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for taking out time to hear us at length, discuss issues pertaining to our industry and assuring positive consideration of suggestions."
They were basically up for the meeting requesting to lower and uniform rates of GST for the entertainment industry in India, a source said. Previously, Aamir Khan and Ritesh Sidhwani had met the PM in Delhi to discuss similar issues.
PM Narendra Modi tweeted, "Had an extensive and fruitful interaction with a delegation from the film and entertainment industry. The delegation spoke about the studies being made by the film and entertainment industry, and gave valuable inputs relating to GST for their sector."
While a source from the meeting revealed "He has assured the delegation that he will personally work towards setting up a special committee to look into the industry matters and address them urgently."
The Prime Minister was on a one day visit to Maharashtra in which he launched infrastructure and housing project worth 41000 crores.
