Akshay Kumar who was last seen in the film 'Rustom' will be back in his patriotic avatar as he will star in Reema Kagti's film 'Gold.' The film is based on the story of India's first Olympic gold medal win post Independence.

The actor will collaborate with Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment for the first time for this film. It will directed by Reema Kagti.

Akshay shared a poster on his twitter handle by tweeting, "Set in 1948, the historic story of India's first Olympic medal as a free nation, #GOLD coming to you on 15th August, 2018!"
