Anushka Sharma's 'Pari' rakes 15.34 cr in opening weekend

5th March 2018

Prosit Roy directed 'Pari' has gained mixed reviews from critics and the audiences. The film is steady on the box-office and raked in 15.34 cr in its opening weekend. However, the film didn't start off as expected considering the festival of Holi, followed by a long weekend; as most of the Indian audiences might have been busy celebrating the festival of colours.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted Pari's box-office figures and as per the budget of the film, the numbers are disappointing. His tweet read ''#Pari has an ORDINARY WEEKEND... Growth in biz, especially on Sat and Sun, wasn’t substantial... Plexes of major centres showed better trending... Fri 4.36 cr, Sat 5.47 cr, Sun 5.51 cr. Total: ₹ 15.34 cr. India biz.''

The film's story revolves around Anushka Sharma as Ruksana who is accompanied by Parambrata Chatterjee as Arnab on her mother's death. The story unfolds as Rajat Kapoor who plays a Bangladeshi professor carrying superstitious rituals along with his gang since a decade is all behind Ruksana to take her down.

Moreover, this time the 29-year-old actress didn't promote the film at all. Some reports suggest that Anushka and her brother Karnesh, who are the co-producer actually didn't want anything to be revealed just as yet.
