The recent release as on 21st December had the Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma starrer 'Zero' clashing with Kannada superstar Yash's gangster drama 'KGF'. This Yash's film has overpowered with strong word of mouth publicity and the raving reviews from the audiences, KGF opened with Record-Breaking collections crossing the 50 Cr mark in just 3days; as the film now stands with 59 cr in the opening weekend of the release.

Surprisingly Aanand L Rai's 'Zero' stands with the same numbers but as the film had been screened with 4380 screens across India it had a slight downfall raking "Fri 20.14 cr, Sat 18.22 cr, Sun 20.71 cr. Total: ₹ 59.07 cr" as mentioned by Taran Adarsh.

KGF got 2,460 screens all over India respectively much less than Zero however 80-85 % occupancy in the morning show across the metro city has shown Yash's dominance among the audiences.

Christmas day box office numbers would be crucial for both the films. KGF: Chapter 1 is bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur under the film production banner of Hombale Films, released on December 21. The film, that released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages, also stars Srinidhi Shetty in the lead role.
