Vidya Balan's upcoming film 'Begum Jaan' created a lot of buzz when the makers released a few posters in the recent past. Now the trailer has made its way on the internet. Vidya Balan shared the trailer on her Twitter handle and captioned it as, "Ab trailer...aur phir Ek mahina...sirf ek mahina...yaad rakhna 14th April... #BegumJaan @VisheshFilms."

The trailer starts with Amitabh Bachchan's voiceover in the background explaining the partition story of India and Pakistan. He further introduces us to a brothel of Begum Jaan which is set just in between the partition line of the two states. Vidya with her gang of girls is living in happier times when suddenly a government official brings out a notice to vacate her brothel. Suddenly she switches to her fierce, intense and bold avatar as she croons some amazing dialogues.

Naseeruddin Shah is spotted in one of the frames and is perfect as usual. What catches our attention is actor Chunky Pandey. He is almost unrecognizable as a selfish barbarian doing all wrong deeds for his self motive. Gauhar Khan, Pallavi Sharda and others act as a support system of Vidya and are seen standing strong with her in her fight to save the brothel.

The trailer boasts of true women power and we can only expect the story to be much more interesting than the trailer. Vidya surely needs to be appreciated for her acting skills. Written and directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film releases on April 14, 2017.
