Soha Ali Khan, who was away from the limelight for quite a long period now, is back with a bang. The trailer of her upcoming film '31st October' is released and is sure to give your mind a jerk. Soha Ali Khan shared the trailer on her twitter handle by tweeting, "Excited to finally share the trailer of 31st October with you! Don't get confused, release date is October 7th!."
The trailer showcases Soha Ali Khan as Tejinder Kaur, wife of Devender Singh, a sikh family whose life takes an unexpected turn after the night of 31st October 1984. The day on which former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi was killed by her own bodyguard who belonged to the Sikh community.
A knock at the door meant to the call of the death as every single person belonging to the Sikh community was killed. "Yahan koi Sardar hai?" came the question that night and all the efforts made to rescue come to an end. Vir Das and Soha hears death knocking their door while the children look with fear. Ugly politics of communalism, death of benevolence is shown in the trailer which gives you goosebumps.
Clippings from newspapers, the adverts on radios leave you petrified and bring back the memories of that era. The trailer ends with a question: Are all Sikhs murderers of India Gandhi? Are all Sikhs traitors?
Directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, produced by Harry Sachdeva and Magical Dreams Productions Pvt Ltd, '31st October' releases worldwide on October 7, 2016.
