Shahid Kapoor who has his 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' out on silver screen started prepping for his next which is Arjun Reddy remake. The film was supposed to hit the floors by August but unfortunately, Tara Sutaria walked out of it as she had the contract with Dharma Productions for 'Student Of The Year 2'.

Now, the makers have locked the 'Lust Stories' actress Kiara Advani as the female lead. Speaking about bagging this role, an elated Kiara said to a leading daily, "Arjun Reddy has always been one of my favourite films. There are so many shades to the heroine's character; I'm very excited about it." Well, Kiara looks excited about this project and gaining acclaim from her Lust Stories we could see more of her.

Sandeep Vanga, who directed the Telugu film 'Arjun Reddy', will also be directing its Hindi remake. Produced by Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani, the original film starred Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey in leading roles.

"Kiara epitomises the female character in the film to the T. She has the perfect combination of innocence (in terms of looks) and maturity (in terms of performance) that's so important for the character," Reddy said.

This yet to be titled remake will be bankrolled by T-Series and Cine1 Studios.
