Bollywood lost its smile on Sunday morning, with the news that left the entire industry in shock and disbelief. It was the news of the legendary actress Sridevi bidding a final goodbye at the age of 54 due to cardiac arrest in her room in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel, Dubai.
As per Khaleej Times from Dubai Boney Kapoor visited Dubai this Saturday to spent some time together. Later on he woke up Sridevi at around 5.30 pm and the couple chatted for around 15 minutes. Mr. Boney Kapoor then asked her to get ready for dinner and she went to the washroom and didn't come out for quite long. Husband Kapoor knocked the door but didn't get any response to which he forced open the door and saw the 54-year-old lying motionless in the bathtub filled with water.
"He tried to revive her and when he could not, he called a friend of his. After that, he informed the police at 9pm," said the source. She did not had any heart condition.
Sridevi's sudden death has saddened millions of fans in India and around the world in complete shock. In countless tributes, she was billed as the first and last female superstar of Indian cinema.
Sridevi, Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor had gone to Dubai for her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding. Her older daughter Jahnavi, who is debuting in films, stayed back in Mumbai for a shoot.
The family waited yesterday for the legendary actor's body as Dubai authorities carried out an autopsy. The body will be flown to Mumbai today for the funeral.
The entire film fraternity was shaken by this tragic news and paid their condolences to the respective family via their social media handles-
