Rajkummar Rao bags two more awards for 'Newton'

Though 'Newton' fails to get selected for Oscar's in the best foreign-language film category, the journey of the film is not yet over and it continues to gain appreciation and awards worldwide. Rajkummar Rao seems to enjoy the purple patch of his life and is extremely proud that his Bollywood flick 'Newton' has bagged two more awards and continues to win hearts. The black comedy-drama film has bagged International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) Best International Film award and Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema's (NETPAC) Best Asian Film award at the 22nd International Film Festival of Kerala (IIFK 2017).

Quite delighted with his film's success, the 33-year-old actor took it to Twitter and wrote, "Super proud #Newton." 

The movie's production company Drishyam Films also took its Twitter handle and wrote, "#Newton continues to win hearts. Bags FIPRESCI (Best International Film) and NETPAC (Best Asian Film) award at @IFFKerala. Super proud!" 

Well, such a heartfelt film surely deserves much more and it continues to gain critical acclamation worldwide.The story of the film revolves around an honest election officer, who manages to hold elections in a Chhattisgarh village despite the threat of Naxalite violence. Apart from Rajkummar Rao, the film features Anjali Patil, Pankaj Tripathi and Raghubir Yadav in prominent roles.
