Looks like controversies and Abhijeet Bhattacharya go hand in hand as the Bollywood singer is booked with an FIR for abusing a woman reportedly. The Amboli police have reportedly registered a case against the singer. Reports confirm that police have registered an FIR under section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and section 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
A police officer investigating the matter has been quoted as saying, ''The woman had an argument with the singer over some drilling work being done in the society. She claims that she was abused by him. We have registered a case and will be investigating the case further.''
Whereas Bhattacharya has neglected every allegation and alleged that the said woman has been threatening him to extort money from him. Speaking about the matter he said, ''She has been threatening me and others to extort money. I have given a commercial place on rent. My tenants were getting some work done, and she objected to it. Being the owner of the place, I intervened in it.''
As of now, the singer hasn't been contacted by the police, the report suggests that they will gather evidence before taking any action.
