While the first installment 'Kahaani' which released in the year 2012 boasted about the journey of a pregnant women in search of her husband, the second installment 'Kahaani 2' is a bit more interesting as it is a story of a mother and daughter. Now the trailer of the film is out. Vidya Balan tweeted on her twitter handle, "Our  Kahaani2 trailer is out...yoohoo !! Here...... Goodluck to us @sujoy_g  👍👍!!"

Vidya is receiving threat calls from an unknown person after which she rushes to look for her daughter. Unfortunately she meets with an accident and is admitted to the hospital. Arjun Rampal essays the character of a police officer who is incharge of Vidya's case. While investigating the hit and run case he discovers some hidden facts and figures from the past which has a deep connection to the present situation.

Are Durga Rani Singh, a wanted criminal for kidnapping and murder and Vidya, mother of Mini related to each other? Or is it the same women with two different names? Well nothing can be decoded from the trailer as the makers have kept the storyline under wraps. All we can say is Vidya's acting is highly intense and powerful and she is worth a watch.

Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film releases on December 2,2016.
