August 13, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): This year 9XM is going to be the only Bollywood Music Channel that will celebrate the 63rd Independence Day in musical style. On this August 15, the channel will also don a new look, which will highlight the non-stop entrainment.
The channel will air a programme titled 'Freedom Parade', which is a unique step presented by Samsung India. This will offer the viewers 'freedom from ads'. On the Independence Day, the channel will provide four hours of complete non-stop Bollywood music.
Speaking about this special programme, Amar Tidke, Head of Programming, 9XM, says, "The channel has always entertained the viewers with the witty animated characters and the music of latest Bollywood movies and now it will celebrate the 'Independence Day' true to its style. On this day, we will offer four hours of non-stop music with no commercial breaks. The channel will also take up new look for this big day with the 'tricolored logo' and the characters will be shown saluting the great Indians who have made us feel proud".
The channel will also air the new version of 'Vande Mataram' by Raghav Sachar. Another interactive initiative titled 'Mitti Ke Lal' will give the viewers an opportunity to guess and feel good about the legends and facts about the nation.
A ticker called 'Only in India' will be played on channel all day, which will state the unique and extraordinary realities of India. Popular singer Isheeta Ganguly's 'Vande Mataram' will be aired featuring Bollywood actor John Abraham, who will recite Tagore's poem from Gitanjali in the background.
