2011 seems to be a special year for Kollywood as many Tamil movies are making its emergence into international standards. Following the huge success of 'Endhiran', 'Singam' and 'Aadukalam', the recent releases have also started drawing the interest of international audiences. The film 'Vaanam', a remake of Telugu movie became a good grosser at the box-office following which 'Aaranya Kaandam' is making huge waves.

The film was released last Friday and got a decent opening. The film doesn't boast of any big star-cast and yet it received an outstanding ovation across all the centers.

Directed by Thyagarajan Kumara Raja, the film is produced by SP Charan under the banner of Capital Film Works. The critics have praised the film as a ticket to international cinema for its brilliant narration and sharp characterizations.
