(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Aaron Eckhart has spoken of the intense bond he formed with his Battle: Los Angeles co-stars, saying they became one unit.

The 42-year-old American actor is currently promoting the science-fiction thriller, which tells the story of a Marine platoon that has to face up to an alien invasion of Los Angeles and boasts an all-star cast including Ramon Rodriguez, Cory Hardrict and Ne-Yo.

The actor had a wonderful time shooting Battle: Los Angeles, despite its intensity. He especially appreciated the way the male stars came together.

We stayed in character, we did go to boot camp, we trained together, we slept together, we ate together, we showered together, he explained to Collider.

Some guys cried, some guys couldnt take it. We all had to rally up and take care of each other. Twelve actors going in and one unit came out.

The star also discussed his character Staff Sergeant Michael Nantz, admitting that he found the roles complexity rewarding. Playing a man who is questioning his own abilities was a challenging experience.

My character is riddled with self doubt, with shame from maybe being not such a great leader at one time, mused Aaron.

Aaron admits making the movie took its toll on him and went surfing and took photographs to help him unwind. The star says hes not such a fan of musical hobbies, although if pushed he would probably like to perform a rendition of rock band Queens 1978 hit Fat Bottomed Girls.

If I were to do karaoke Id probably do Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen...but I wouldnt do it, he teased. (C) Cover Media
