Abbas Tyrewala Wants To Try New Dark Noir Genre

13th January 2011

January 13, 2011 (Sampurn Wire): Abbas Tyrewala is only two films old as a director; he has seen the super high with the success of his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na with Imran Khan and then hit the lowest point Jhootha Hi Sahi. Now the writer-director is ready to put an end to the rom-com flicks that he has directed so far and try out something new, the dark noir genre.

The young director is ready to take the responsibility for the flop of Jhootha Hi Sahi, where his wife Pakhi was said to look like an aunt opposite John Abraham, and while post-mortem of the film can lead to many answers on why the film bombed, Abbas wants to move on. So, he has already started penning his next film a dark espionage thriller and wishes to cast the likes of Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal and Ratna Shah in it.

Abbas goes on to say that while there is a romantic side to a person, there is this comic self too, but he wants to break out and do something thats much more cerebral. Hence, casting actors of the caliber of Naseeruddin and Paresh Rawal is a comfortable choice as they will bring in their own sensitivity, maturity, wisdom and wit.

Also venturing with a dark thriller will also not limit his audience to young youth while rom-coms do limit the choice of actors to work with as well as the audience. So he is gearing up to not only give himself a hit but make some money for his producer Madhu Mantena with his next film.
