Adam Levine doesn't see the point in being "self-deprecating" as he believes he "deserves" his fame and fortune.
The Maroon 5 frontman has seen his popularity soar thanks to his role as a mentor and judge on the hit US TV show The Voice alongside Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton.
Maroon 5 are gearing up to release his fourth studio album Overexposed, and Adam is proud of his success.
"I have a high self-opinion I don't need to hide that. I don't need to be self-deprecating," he said in an interview with USA Today.
"I do believe that I deserve what I have. I don't think I'm entitled to it. That's a big difference."
Adam doesn't believe in conjuring up senseless stories in a bid to try and connect with fans. The 33-year-old star insists he'll never admit to cleaning his kitchen, when in truth, he doesn't.
"It's ridiculous. It's too much. Can you just be a millionaire?" he mused. "My mom told me a long time ago she didn't know she was giving me this advice but she said, 'All I know is, you'll never change, so you'd better get somebody to take care of your room and get a housekeeper.' That was burned into my skull: 'Must make money so I don't have to do my chores, because I wouldn't do them anyway.'
"It's sweet that I don't have to do my laundry."
