'Adhinayakudu': Surfing on shallow waves

On Thursday, the Election Commission made it clear that they would not ban any parts or dialogues on the release and exhibition of Balakrishna's forthcoming film 'Adhinayakudu'

However, the E.C. said that it will debit the cost of some portions of the movie into the expenditure of the Telugu Desam candidates if they were used for campaining.

While Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal was talking to the journislist in Hyderabad, he said that it was the Film Censor Board who were adamant to recommend cut outs of a few objectional portions of the film or ban the film completely, abiding to the parameters specified under the Cinematography Act.

The movie triggered a major political controversy in Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday the Y.S.R. Congress party lodged a complaint with the E.C. stating that some of the dialogues in the film, revealed in television promos, were aimed at attacking the party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
