Sarath Kumar a journalist, politician, body builder and film actor, was elected as the president of South Indian Film Artistes Association. This is his third consecutive year as the president, and he was elected unopposed for the post. 

Also known as Nadigar Sangam, the association revealed in a statement to the press that Radha Ravi and Vagai Chandrashekar were selected as the general secretary and the treasurer. Vijayakumar and Kalai are the two new vice-presidents.

The executive committee that consists of 24 members also includes big names like Silambarasan, Nalini and Chinni Jayanth this year. The newly elected office bearers said that they will take initiative towards the benefit of the association and the Industry. 

Sarath Kumar is currently a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He is also the founder president of a political party called Akila India Samathuva Makkal Katchi, which is an alliance partner of the ruling AIADMK.
